Job summary

AC Hotel San Jose Downtown is seeking a Security Guard to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff in San Jose Downtown. You will work closely with police and alarm monitoring services and respond to incidents with calm, professional conduct.

The role requires two years of security experience, English fluency, CPR certification, and valid driver's license. Onsite parking is available and benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Two years related experience and/or training, especially being an unarmed security guard.
• Possess excellent verbal and people skills
• The ability to read, write and speak English fluently is required to analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Valid driver’s license.
• CPR certification required.
• Previous experience in security or related field is preferred.
• Ability to follow established security policies and procedures.
• Strong communication skills to interact with guests, staff, and management.
• Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
• Strong attention to detail in monitoring hotel assets and documenting activities.
• Security certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring the building is a safe and secure environment at all times. Maintains a close working relationship with the police and alarm monitoring services
• Ensures proper building safety and security measures are always followed
• Maintains up to date information of events, both current and future, occurring in the city and county
• Answers the telephone in a pleasant and professional manner within three rings
• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly desk at all times
• Responds to all guest’s requests in an expeditious manner
