Zoox seeks a Team Lead for Ground Operations (3rd shift) to drive overnight fleet maintenance, rework, and mission readiness. You will lead a skilled team of technicians and readiness associates, optimizing workflows and ensuring maximum fleet uptime for daytime operations.

You will develop personnel, manage schedules, track KPIs, and escalate complex issues. Strong automotive expertise, leadership, and safety focus are essential for success in this fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on automotive technician experience.
• 2+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
• Willingness to lead overnight operations (3rd shift).
• Knowledge of automotive maintenance methods, CAN/LIN, wiring diagrams, and soldering.
• Strong written and verbal communication; capable of translating details for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead overnight shift: direct leadership, coaching, and mentorship of staff.
• Develop team: recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance culture.
• Manage schedules and time-off; track KPIs and provide feedback.
• Drive lean improvements to overnight workflows and maintenance processes.
• Oversee overnight maintenance, rework, and fleet readiness to maximize daytime availability.
• Serve as technical escalation point and ensure quality standards.
• Analyze fleet data to support root cause analyses and reduce downtime.
• Enforce safety policies; keep workshop clean and compliant with OSHA.
