Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Team Lead for Ground Operations on the 3rd shift to drive overnight fleet maintenance, rework, and mission readiness. You will lead a team of technicians and readiness associates, optimize workflows, and ensure maximum fleet uptime for daytime operations.

The role requires hands-on automotive experience with leadership capabilities, willingness to work nights, and strong communication across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on automotive technician experience with 2+ years in people leadership or supervision.
• Willingness and ability to lead overnight operations (3rd shift).
• Extensive knowledge of automotive maintenance methods, diagnostics, parts and tools, CAN/LIN, wiring diagrams, soldering.
• Proven ability to learn technical subjects quickly and communicate across teams.
• Strong time management, multitasking, and prioritization in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead overnight shift, coaching and mentoring technical staff and contractors.
• Recruit, onboard, train workshop personnel, and foster a high-performance culture.
• Manage schedules and time-off, and track KPIs to measure performance.
• Drive lean improvements to optimize maintenance, repair and fleet readiness.
• Oversee overnight maintenance and rework to maximize daytime availability.
• Direct mission readiness, pre-mission checks, and cross-site logistics.
