Job summary

Meijer is seeking an engaged Grocery Supervisor for our Terre Haute, IN store location. The Overnight Stocking Supervisor will plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day grocery operations, mentoring the team and driving customer service to meet sales goals.

The role emphasizes a fast, friendly experience and adherence to store standards. You will manage staffing, training, and performance, with a focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation while promoting Meijer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across areas.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations within the grocery department.
• Serves as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintains store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Ensure staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning and development of team members.
• Documents disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink in the department.
• Models fast, friendly customer service and Meijer initiatives.
