Job summary

Velera seeks a Senior Risk Prevention Analyst for the overnight shift to assess operational and technical fraud risk using analytics, AI, and fraud tools. You will support fraud strategies, monitor workflows, and handle escalations for financial institutions.

You’ll interact with senior leaders, develop client-specific fraud rules, and deliver data-driven insights through BI reporting while ensuring security and compliance across portfolios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business, statistics, math, CS, engineering, economics, or related field.
• 7+ years in financial services with risk analytics, fraud mitigation, or fraud services.
• Experience with Fraud Detection Work Center (FDWC) and/or FDR systems.
• Experience with fraud orchestration and decisioning tools (DefenseEdge, Falcon, Advance Defense, Fraud Navigator).
• Strong SQL skills and ability to analyze large datasets.
• Excellent problem-solving and communications skills.
• Project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop fraud strategies using data, ML, and analytics to reduce losses while preserving customer experience.
• Manage and optimize fraud strategies and workflows to meet SLAs and quality targets.
• Provide overnight fraud monitoring, risk analytics, and client support across portfolios.
• Create BI reports for senior leadership and clients; present recommendations clearly.
