Job summary

Independence Health System Inc. is seeking a Food Service Associate for casual overnights in our on-site hospital dining operations. You will rotate through patient meal stations, deliver carts and meals to patient units, and support retail service while upholding sanitation and safety standards.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with 0–1 year in food service preferred. ServSafe certification is encouraged; this part-time role includes overnight shifts and may require local travel

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education required.
• 0–1 year of experience in food service, sanitation, or service industry preferred.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
• Ability to communicate complex topics to a wide and diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Works various stations in patient meal service area.
• Delivers carts, meals and supplies to patient units.
• Performs dishwashing and pot washing.
• Serves food in the retail areas.
• Stocks supplies throughout the department.
• Fills in for cross-trained roles in the department.
