Job summary

Corelight is seeking an Associate Escalation Engineer to join our Customer Success team for overnight coverage in the US. You will troubleshoot issues across Corelight products, Linux systems, networking, hardware, and cloud environments, growing your technical proficiency in a highly technical customer environment.

In this role you will work with senior Escalation Engineers, document findings, provide timely updates to customers, and contribute to team knowledge while developing scripting,

Qualifications

• Degree in CS, IT, cybersecurity, networking, engineering or related field or equivalent training.
• Foundational understanding of computer systems and how devices communicate over networks.
• Basic networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, IP addressing, and routing.
• Familiarity with Linux/UNIX through coursework, training, labs or projects.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware and operating systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication; quick learner with technical curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and troubleshoot customer issues across Corelight products, Linux systems, networking, hardware, and cloud environments.
• Support customer cases and take increasing ownership as proficiency develops.
• Use logs, system information, network traffic, and other data to identify problem sources.
• Learn when to escalate complex issues to senior engineers or engineering.
• Provide clear, timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Document troubleshooting steps, findings and resolutions to contribute to shared team knowledge.
• Partner with Escalation Engineering, Engineering, Product Management, Sales Engineering, and other teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in team training, labs, technical projects, and continuous learning.
• Contribute to scripting, tooling, automation, and process improvements as skills develop.
