Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking an Overnight Veterinary Assistant for its fast-paced emergency department. The role involves triaging emergency cases, assisting veterinarians, and handling diagnostics, ICU setup, patient discharge, and client communications.

Responsibilities include nursing care per hospital standards, patient rounds reporting, medication monitoring, phlebotomy, and anesthesia support for ASA I/II patients.

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency veterinary care preferred.
• Ability to report patient signalment, problem list and plan during rounds.
• Understanding of medication classes, side effects and monitoring responses.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to emergency patients per hospital standards.
• Triage incoming cases and assist DVM with treatment planning.
• Perform diagnostics such as radiographs and labs as needed.
• Work with ICU or Inpatient wards and assist with patient discharge.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
