The Veterinary Emergency Center of Canton in Canton, CT is seeking an Overnight Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced emergency hospital. You will provide high-quality nursing care, assist ER clinicians, and work with the latest technology in a supportive team.

This role emphasizes hands-on clinical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical assistance, with a focus on a low-stress environment for pets and clear communication with the veterinary

Qualifications

• Hands-on veterinary tech experience required
• Ability to perform core technical skills including blood draws, catheter placement, patient monitoring, and surgical assistance
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Must be a team player with compassion for pets and their families

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care and technical support to hospitalized and emergency patients
• Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters
• Monitor anesthesia and assist veterinarians during surgical and medical procedures
• Assist with diagnostics including bloodwork, radiographs, and laboratory testing
• Monitor patient vitals, maintain treatment records, and communicate patient updates to the veterinary team
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Support patient restraint and handling while ensuring a low-stress experience for pets
• Maintain a clean, organized treatment area and assist with stocking medical supplies
• Collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to provide exceptional patient care
