Job summary

Valley Equine is seeking a Night Technician to support veterinarians and ensure the health and safety of horses overnight. The role requires attentive, detail-oriented work and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced ranch setting.

You will monitor multiple horse cohorts, maintain water supplies, perform wellness checks, and assist with nighttime emergencies, including administering IV/IM injections. A calm, proactive mindset and strong communication with the team are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in administering IV and IM injections is required.
• Strong, safe horse-handling skills and knowledge of equine behavior.
• Ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergencies.
• Excellent attention to detail in all tasks and records.
• Clear communication and teamwork to support veterinarians and staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor horses across the ranch (yearlings in barn, mares in turnout) for health and well-being.
• Check and maintain adequate water supply for all horses.
• Conduct routine wellness checks and promptly report concerns to the vets.
• Assist veterinarians with nighttime emergencies, providing skilled support.
• Administer IV and IM injections and other medications as directed.
• Maintain a clean, orderly environment in barns, laboratory, stock areas and office.
