Hope Advanced Veterinary Center in Vienna, Virginia seeks an Emergency Veterinary Assistant for overnight shifts. The role supports veterinarians and technicians with clinical tasks, patient handling, and administrative duties to ensure high-quality care.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of veterinary medicine experience, ER/urgent care exposure, and is 18+ years old. This position offers full-time overnight hours with comprehensive benefits and a culture of care.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of veterinary medicine experience.
• Experience in Emergency (ER), Urgent Care, or Specialty veterinary settings preferred
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and their owners as they arrive and show them to an examining room, taking the patient's weight and other vital signs.
• Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medication as directed by the licensed veterinary technicians (LVT's).
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with the administration of medications or with patient restraint.
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Show up for work regularly; full-time presence at work is essential for every shift.
