Job summary

PetVet Care Centers’ The Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, VA seeks an Overnight Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians across tasks from cleaning and equipment prep to patient care and clerical duties.

Open 24/7 since 1985, the center offers a full emergency team with specialty support. Night shifts require flexibility, strong clinical basics, and excellent client communication.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years' emergency room experience; strong technician skills.
• Comfortable with managing hospitalized and potentially critical patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vital signs on arrival.
• Triage, perform exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by licensed staff.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and restraints.
• Maintain medical records and ensure proper documentation.
