Metropolitan Veterinary Associates (MVA) is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant for overnight shifts. You’ll support emergency doctors and technicians, assist with triage and procedures, and help prepare treatment areas while ensuring compassionate care for pets and families.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in veterinary/animal care or shelter environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with triage, anesthesia, surgery and discharge preparation
• Provide hands-on support during emergency procedures—helping with patient restraint, positioning, and basic treatments
• Prepare and restock treatment areas with necessary supplies and ensure equipment is clean and ready
• Communicate compassionately with pet parents and direct them to the appropriate team member
• Perform basic laboratory tasks such as setting up samples and collecting vitals under supervision
• Collaborate with emergency technicians and doctors to ensure efficient patient care
