Job summary

The Cornell University Hospital for Animals invites applications from talented, energetic veterinarians for our staff Emergency Veterinarian role in Ithaca, NY. The successful applicant will provide emergent care to dogs and cats in a fast-paced teaching hospital, supported by a team of ECC specialists, residents, interns, and licensed technicians.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD with a rotating internship or at least 1 year of emergency experience.
• Applicants with a minimum of 2 years companion animal practice with less than one year of emergency experience will be considered.
• Thrives in a fast-paced ER environment.
• Demonstrates excellent communication with clients and team.
• Interest in a team approach to high-quality emergency medicine.
• Growth mindset with leadership and teaching responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality emergent care to dogs and cats in a dynamic teaching hospital.
• Collaborate with a team of ECC specialists, residents, interns, and technicians.
• Engage in hands-on teaching of DVM students within a multi-specialty practice.
• Participate in overnight ER shifts as part of a 3-doctor team and on-call support.
