Cornell University Hospital for Animals in Ithaca, NY seeks a seasoned Emergency Veterinarian to join our staff ER team. You will deliver high‑quality emergent care for dogs and cats within a dynamic teaching hospital, supported by ECC specialists, residents, interns, and licensed technicians.

You will teach DVM students, engage in ongoing research, and participate in a 12‑shift overnight schedule with strong on‑call support. This role emphasizes life balance and academic growth.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD with a rotating internship or at least 1 year of emergency experience.
• Ability to thrive in the fast-paced clinical environment of a busy ER.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with clients, team members, and referring veterinarians.
• Interest in a team approach to high-quality emergency medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality emergent care to dogs and cats in a teaching hospital.
• Work with a strong team of ECC specialists, residents, interns, and technicians.
• Teach DVM students as part of an academic, multi-specialty practice.
• Respond to overnight emergencies and participate in 12 ER shifts per month.
