Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) seeks an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician for overnight shifts in Elk Grove, CA. You will work on the front lines of veterinary emergency care, handling emergencies from triage to critical care under supervision of our doctors, while delivering compassionate care to pets and their families.

You must be CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT with an AVMA-accredited program, plus 1+ year of veterinary tech experience, preferably in emergency or specialty settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred.
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located is required; VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia is a plus and will lead to extra considerations in compensation.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and a comprehension of practice management software and electronic medical record keeping.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; ready to lend a hand to support those around you.

Responsibilities

• Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Provide nursing care, emotional support, and collaborate with doctors and team during emergencies.
• Perform diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and endoscopy-related tasks as needed.
• Lead or support care plans and ensure smooth patient flow through hospital processes.
• Contribute to a positive, fast-paced environment that supports pet parents in stressful moments.
