Job summary

BMCHS in Boston is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist II to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department. The role focuses on optimizing pharmacotherapy, ensuring medication safety, and supporting transitions of care.

Night shift (9 pm–7:30 am) seven days on, seven off, with weekend/holiday coverage. Responsibilities include trauma pharmacotherapy, IV preparation for immediate use, and participation in quality improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
• Massachusetts license required by start date.
• PGY1 residency with at least 1 year relevant experience.
• PGY2 in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care preferred.
• Two years hospital pharmacy experience or ASHP-accredited residency preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with patients, physicians and nurses.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to optimize pharmacotherapy and ensure medication safety.
• Educate and train other health care providers and precept APPE students and pharmacy residents.
• Work overnight shift in the Emergency Department (9 pm - 7:30 am) seven days on, then seven days off.
• Participate in trauma response and pharmacotherapy for adult and pediatric ED patients.
• Prepare select IV products for immediate use and contribute to quality improvement projects.
