Job summary

The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York seeks a Social Worker-Compressed Schedule (Overnights) to support discharge planning in the Emergency Department and coordinate post-discharge services. The schedule is three 12.5-hour days for three weeks per month and four 12.5-hour days one week per month, with weekend shifts rotating; nights are 7 PM–7:30 AM.

Requirements include NYS LMSW or LCSW, strong crisis intervention and psychosocial assessment skills; Spanish speaking preferred; internal

Qualifications

• NYS LMSW or LCSW licensure is required.
• Strong crisis intervention and rapid psychosocial assessment skills are essential.
• Spanish speaking preferred; internal candidates should have at least one year in current ED/RETU role if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Psychosocial assessment and a full range of interventions for patients and families; transitional care and post-discharge follow-up.
• Counseling, crisis intervention (including domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, human trafficking, death) and coordination of community resources and placements.
