The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York seeks a Social Worker-Compressed Schedule (Overnights) to support discharge planning in the Emergency Department and coordinate post-discharge services. The schedule is three 12.5-hour days for three weeks per month and four 12.5-hour days one week per month, with weekend shifts rotating; nights are 7 PM–7:30 AM.

The Mount Sinai Hospital is a 1,134-bed facility with an extensive outpatient and specialty care network and is the largest hospital in the Mount Sinai Health Care System. Social Workers collaborate within interprofessional teams to serve patients and the larger community from both a micro and macro level including both direct care and prevention. Founded in 1907, the Department of Social Work Services at the Mount Sinai Hospital is one of the oldest hospital social work departments in the nation with over 450 licensed social workers employed across more than 65 different program/service areas. Employment in our department provides a pathway to LCSW licensure as well as access to a broad range of continuing education, professional development and extra-curricular opportunities.
The ED social work team also provides coverage for urgent needs that come up after hours across the hospital.
This full-time position requires THREE 12.5-hour days weekly for three weeks/month and FOUR 12.5 hour days one week/month. The schedule will include weekend days on a rotating schedule.
The hours for this position are overnight, 7 PM – 7:30 AM.
Schedules are subject to change based on Emergency Department and inpatient flow. There is a salary supplement for working nights. During the orientation and training period, daytime hours will be required. For clinical supervision, there may be a need for adjustment of hours.
