Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) is hiring a Part-Time Awake Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals in a residential setting. You will provide person-centered care, build relationships, assist with daily living activities, and help people pursue their goals in a respectful, inclusive environment.

The role offers $17 per hour with a $1000 hiring bonus, opportunities for wage increases after six months, and comprehensive team support.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education required.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• A valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household tasks, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for people with identified needs’ rights, needs, and preferences.
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs.
