Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals with identified needs pursue their goals through person-centered care. This role offers meaningful daily interactions and the chance to make a difference in a residential setting.

Starting pay is $16 per hour with a potential raise to $16.50 after six months and a $1000 hiring bonus. No prior experience required; training is provided to help you succeed and build a rewarding caregiving career.

Qualifications

• Genuine heart for helping others and supporting people with identified needs.
• No prior experience or formal education required; training provided.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care and stay connected with the team.
• Ability to read and write in English for clear communication.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; pass Motor Vehicle Check.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships and provide guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities including personal care, hygiene, meals, household tasks, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for rights, needs, and preferences of people served.
• Monitor health and report changes as needed; complete required documentation.
