Job summary

WellLife Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Island Park, NY. You will provide hands-on care, encouragement and advocacy to individuals with developmental disabilities and other support needs in their homes and communities.

The position emphasizes personal care, daily living support, mobility, health & wellness, and community engagement, with Overnight shifts and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• Fluent in English for client communication.
• Valid New York State Driver’s License with at least 2 years of driving experience (required for driving positions).
• Comfort operating a large vehicle (for driving positions).
• Experience with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care, encouragement and advocacy for individuals you support.
• Assist with daily living activities and building community connections.
• Administer medications as directed and support appointments.
• Assist with mobility and safety in living environments.
• Plan and participate in recreational, educational and social activities.
• Assist with communication tools and advocate for clients’ needs and rights.
• Document daily notes, progress reports and required records in electronic systems.
