Job summary

Chimes is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work Wed, Fri, Sat 8pm-8am at our Newark, DE location. You will support individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges, ensuring safety, daily living tasks, and meaningful engagement in a residential setting.

This on-site role requires compassion, reliability, and the ability to follow care plans, administer medications per policy, and document daily progress.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; human services coursework preferred.
• Certifications: CPR/First Aid; Mandt (or other crisis intervention training) required.
• Experience: Prior experience with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required.
• Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; ability to follow care plans.
• Physical: Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Other: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and supervision to ensure safety, engagement, and well-being.
• Assist with personal care tasks including hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meals.
• Implement and follow individualized care plans and support goals.
• Administer medications per agency policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment following health protocols.
• Utilize behavior techniques for regulation and safety.
• Document daily activities and progress.
• Foster community integration through activities and social interactions.
• Communicate with supervisors and external providers.
• Attend trainings and meetings to stay compliant.
• Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Treat individuals with dignity, respect, and kindness.
