Job summary

Chimes is seeking a Direct Support Professional for Sun, Mon, Tues & Wed 8pm-8am in Newark, DE. The role supports individuals with disabilities across residential and program settings, ensuring safety, independence, and well-being.

The position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), CPR/First Aid and Mandt certifications, and a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required; Mandt or similar crisis intervention training.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds; valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and supervision to individuals to ensure safety, engagement, and well-being.
• Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meal preparation.
• Implement and follow individualized care plans, supporting each person’s goals and skill development.
• Administer medications accurately and in compliance with agency policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment; complete required reports and documentation.
• Foster community integration by facilitating participation in activities, events, and social interactions.
• Maintain open communication with supervisors, team members, and external service providers.
• Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions; work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
