Job summary

Chimes is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Newark, DE for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 8 am - 8 pm. The DSP role focuses on empowering individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges to live with dignity and independence in a team-focused environment.

Responsibilities include personal care, following care plans, documenting progress, administering medications, and promoting community engagement, with training provided and room for growth within a mission-driven nonprofit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in disability services preferred, but not required — training provided.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+ lbs.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with driving record requirements: 3+ years unsuspended with ≤3 points or 2+ years with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with kindness and respect.
• Assist with personal care including dressing, toileting, hygiene, feeding, bathing, and daily living skills.
• Follow individualized care plans and document progress.
• Administer medications in accordance with policy.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
• Use approved behavior support techniques.
• Encourage community engagement and participation.
• Some roles may require travel between Residential and Day programs.
