Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison seeks a Custodian to join the 3rd shift, helping keep campus spaces clean, safe, and welcoming. Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas; handling waste, and reporting maintenance needs. Position is full-time and on-site, with potential overtime and weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to shovel snow and ice outside in winter conditions.
• Availability to work overtime and weekend hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed.
• Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables.
• Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs.
• Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice.
• Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities.
