Job summary

Wisconsin Union in Madison seeks a Custodian for a temporary, fixed-term assignment. The shift is Monday–Friday, 12:30pm–9pm, handling cleaning tasks across bathrooms, common areas, offices, and event spaces.

Responsibilities include outdoor entrance upkeep, snow/ice removal, and assisting with event setup/breakdown as needed. A High School Diploma is preferred and 3 months of prior work experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk, stand, lift, carry, bend, stoop and climb for the majority of the shift, including extended periods of physical activity.
• Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment regularly up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to remove snow and ice outside during cold weather.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables.
• Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice.
• Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities.
• Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed.
• Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs.
