Job summary

Mental Health Cooperative is seeking a Crisis Counselor for the Nashville area to provide face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention services in the least restrictive manner for adults experiencing a mental health emergency. The role requires a Master’s degree in a related field and licensure or eligibility, with a schedule of 7:00pm - 7:00am (Thursday through Saturday).

Responsibilities include crisis assessment, referrals when hospitalization is needed, documentation, and collaboration

Qualifications

• A mental health professional with specialized training in crisis intervention.
• Master’s degree in a related field (counseling, psychology or social work).
• Licensed or License Eligible.

Responsibilities

• Conduct crisis assessment and crisis intervention services for psychiatric emergencies.
• Respond to crisis calls in walk-in centers, community, ERs, schools, etc.
• Develop individualized crisis plans and coordinate referrals to appropriate services.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in departmental guidelines.
• Coordinate care with care management teams and educate community agencies on crisis services.
