Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Overnight CNC Set-Up Machinist in Sidney, OH to set up and operate multi-axis CNC turning and milling equipment for aerospace precision components. You will read blueprints, perform first article inspections, and ensure GD&T compliance in a high-tolerance environment.

Qualified candidates have 3–5 years of CNC setup experience, strong GD&T skills, ERP familiarity, and a collaborative, safety-conscious mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of CNC multi-axis turning or milling experience including full set-up and troubleshooting.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in aerospace or precision component manufacturing preferred.
• Strong background in blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Proven ability to independently set up and run complex machining jobs.
• Experience performing first article and in-process inspections.
• Familiarity with ERP systems for production documentation.
• Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC turning and/or milling machines with minimal supervision
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and operation sheets, including GD&T
• Perform first piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial gauges
• Hold tight tolerances in complex precision machining environments
• Document inspection results and job data within the ERP system
• Follow all quality procedures related to machine setup, inspection, documentation, and material handling
• Troubleshoot machining processes and make necessary adjustments
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
