Job summary

DRT Aerospace in Sidney, OH is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to produce precision aerospace components using CNC and manual lathes. You will read complex drawings, set up tooling, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
3–5 years CNC lathe machining experience in a precision environment.
Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes independently.
Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
Working knowledge of GD&T and inspection techniques.
Experience using precision measuring instruments.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Basic computer skills for production reporting.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes to manufacture precision aerospace components.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, process sheets, and work instructions.
Select tooling, inserts, fixtures, and machining parameters.
Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
Make offsets and program adjustments to maintain quality requirements.
Machine components to close tolerances and customer specifications.
Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools for checks.
Troubleshoot machining issues and support continuous improvement.
