Job summary

DRT Aerospace in Sidney, OH seeks an experienced Milling Machinist (Manual/CNC) to set up, operate, and troubleshoot milling equipment for close-tolerance aerospace components. You will read blueprints, GD&T, and inspect parts with precision tools to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating manual milling machines and/or CNC milling equipment.
• Experience performing machine setups with minimal supervision.
• Ability to machine precision components to close tolerances.
• Strong blueprints reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Knowledge of tooling, workholding, feeds, speeds, and machining best practices.
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, indicators, bore gages, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Strong mathematical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual milling machines and CNC machining centers.
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements.
• Select tooling, fixtures, vises, and offsets, and perform complete machine setups.
• Verify first-piece and monitor accuracy during production.
• Edit CNC programs and adjust offsets as required.
• Machine precision aerospace components to tight tolerances.
• Perform in-process and final inspections with precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot tooling, machine, process, and quality issues.
• Document production, quality, and inspection activities.
• Support continuous improvement and root cause investigations.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to reduce scrap.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
