Job summary

Fair Oaks Estates is seeking a full-time overnight Caregiver in Carmichael, CA. You will perform safety checks, assist with nighttime routines, and support residents with dementia in a memory care setting. The schedule is four nights on, two days off, with the shift crossing midnight.

Starting pay is $16.90 per hour (California minimum wage) with a top rate of $17.90 per hour and overtime paid per CA law. Training and advancement opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older, eligible to work in the United States
• Fingerprint clearance completed before first day
• Health screening and TB test completed before first day
• Valid First Aid card
• Scrubs and appropriate footwear
• Assist residents weighing 100–250 pounds daily
• Provide hands-on personal care
• Stay alert for overnight shifts
• Sound judgment, work independently
• Reliable transportation to Carmichael for late-night start
• Available for four-nights-on, two-days-off rotation including weekends/holidays

Responsibilities

• Take a full handoff from the evening shift
• Perform safety checks and rounds during the night
• Turn and reposition residents on schedule
• Answer call lights and assist with overnight toileting and incontinence care
• Change soiled linens discreetly
• Reassure memory care residents who wake disoriented
• Monitor for falls, breathing changes, pain, and other condition changes
• Escalate per protocol when more than caregiver support is needed
• Report any changes in a resident’s condition promptly
• Monitor oxygen and the call system; complete incident reports
• Keep exterior doors secure and community safe during the night
• Handle overnight laundry and housekeeping
• Prepare for morning shift by setting out supplies
• Document in Eldermark before end of shift and handoff to AM shift
• Escalate emergencies per protocol
