Job summary

Horizon Center San Diego in San Diego, CA seeks a dedicated Caregiver to support residents in a compassionate care setting.

You will assist with activities of daily living, mobility, and medication management under licensed supervision, while promoting safety, dignity, and social engagement for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience as caregiver or support staff is a plus.
• Incorporating Harm Reduction, Informed Trauma Training and De-escalation techniques.
• Prior involvement in caregiving or support roles, ideally within environments such as homeless shelters or comparable settings.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication abilities, coupled with a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.
• Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards individuals from diverse backgrounds, including the underserved individuals.
• Capacity to effectively collaborate within a team dynamic and navigate challenging scenarios with sensitivity and tact.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
• Provide assistance with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure residents' safety and comfort.
• Administer medications and assist with medication management under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
• Monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interactions to promote socialization and mental stimulation.
• Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents, including resident rooms, common areas, and dining areas.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a caring and supportive atmosphere.
