Job summary

Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery seeks an Overnight Bread Baker to craft Stecca bread and other Swamp baked goods from dawn. You’ll work with locally sourced ingredients to create quality loaves for sale and in sandwiches, contributing to a warm, community-focused bakery environment.

Ideal candidates are passionate about local food, detail-oriented, customer-service minded, and able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced early-morning shift. Benefits support full-time staff.

Responsibilities

• Produces Swamp baked goods including: baking, mixing, scaling, portioning recipes and following proper weight standards
• Follows daily checklists to prepare and bake a variety of unique baked goods
• Mixes, rolls, and proofs dough using industry standard equipment
• Follows proper time and temperature guidelines to ensure a quality bake each time
• Produces beautifully proofed, cut and baked loaves of Stecca
• Knows how to execute all recipes and procedures with efficiency and accuracy

Our Overnight Bread Bakers are the backbone of our company, baking our famous Stecca bread for purchase and to be used for our delicious sandwiches. The Bakery team always utilizes the best local ingredients to ensure customers enjoy their experience!

Requirements

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Produces Swamp baked goods including: baking, mixing, scaling, portioning recipes and following proper weight standards

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS?

AGE/AVAILABILITY

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be available for a variety of early morning shifts such as 12:00 am- 8:00 am or 2:00am - 10:00am.
