Job summary

Heritage Behavioral Health Center is seeking an overnight Urgent Care Clinician for our 24/7 Behavioral Health Urgent Care and Crisis Observation unit in Decatur, IL. You will assess, de-escalate, and connect individuals in crisis to needed care, with expanded responsibilities during overnight hours.

The role offers full-time hours, shift differential for 3rd shift, and opportunities for clinical supervision toward licensure. Expect to work with peers and receive comprehensive onboarding.

Qualifications

• Requires at least one of the degree options listed (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Rehab Counseling, Education, Vocational Counseling, Pastoral Counseling, Family Therapy).
• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of supervised clinical experience in mental health is acceptable.
• 5 years of documented, supervised mental health or substance use experience accepted.
• DHS-approved Certificate of Psychiatric Rehabilitation plus required experience qualifies.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage individuals in behavioral health crisis to determine acuity and next steps.
• Complete crisis assessments and substance use screenings.
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and brief treatment.
• Conduct suicide risk assessments and develop disposition plans.
• Complete IM+CANS and ASAM assessments during overnight hours.
• Coordinate discharge or transfer to appropriate care teams.
