Job summary

Heritage Behavioral Health Center is hiring an Overnight Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinician for our 24/7 Urgent Care and Crisis Observation unit in Decatur, IL. You’ll assess, de-escalate, and connect individuals in crisis to the care they need in a trauma-informed, person-centered way.

On the overnight shift you’ll have more independence and may complete full IM+CANS and ASAM assessments. You’ll work with Recovery Support Specialists and receive strong clinical supervision and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field.
• Certificate or experience as required by DHS for psychiatric rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage individuals in behavioral health crisis to determine acuity, safety risk, and next steps.
• Complete the Illinois Medicaid Crisis Assessment Tool (IM-CAT) and a substance use screening for every individual.
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and brief treatment.
• Conduct suicide risk assessments and develop a diagnostic impression and disposition.
• Complete IM+CANS and ASAM assessments during overnight hours.
• Coordinate discharge and follow-up planning with relevant teams.
