Job summary

Sanford Health PrimeWest Residential Support Center seeks staff to contribute to the care and safety of psychiatric residents under supervision. You will monitor residents, document behaviors, and deliver rehabilitative services within a supportive, structured environment.

Position requires overnight availability, relevant health/social services experience or education, and an RN license. The role supports independent living skills, coordination with clinical staff, and adherence to treatment

Qualifications

• Overnight shifts required or agreed to work exclusively overnight shifts.
• 2,000 hours of health and human services experience or 3 years of personal life experience with mental illness within the last 10 years or primary caregiver experience.
• AA degree or 15 semester/23 quarter hours post-secondary education in behavioral science or related field.
• Unencumbered registered nurse license.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the safety and whereabouts of all residents in the facility.
• Observes and reports patient behaviors to clinical staff.
• Interacts directly with patients and provides patient support.
• Delivers and documents rehabilitative services to adult patients with mental illness.
• Implements rehabilitation interventions under licensed clinical staff.
• Implements independent living skills training with patients.
• Provides opportunities for social and interpersonal skills development.
• Ensures patient chores and daily tasks are completed.
• May transport patients as needed.
• Assists in admission process and prepares rooms at discharge.
• Contributes to cleanliness and appearance of the facility.
• May be responsible for medication distribution depending on setting.
• Interventions outside scope require licensed staff approval.
