Job summary

Brightwell Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated Security Guard for our 24/7 inpatient facility. The role focuses on safety, de-escalation, and observation during the overnight hours, with a shift from 10:00 to 18:30 and weekends.

This is a non-armed position requiring calm, decisive action and strong communication with patients and staff. Responsibilities include controlling access, performing security checks, assisting in crisis de-escalation, monitoring cameras, and documenting incidents

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year of security experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Ability to stay calm and act decisively in stressful situations.
• Background check and health screening required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control facility access, verifying visitors and contractors.
• Conduct routine security checks of facility grounds and internal areas.
• Assist clinical staff with de-escalation and safe handling of agitated patients.
• Maintain a visible night-time presence to deter incidents and ensure safety.
• Respond promptly to calls for assistance from staff or patients.
• Document incidents and security issues in daily logs and reports.
• Monitor surveillance systems and alarms and respond to security concerns.
• Ensure emergency exits and secured areas remain locked and unobstructed.
• Follow HIPAA and confidentiality policies and provide trauma-informed care.
