Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Lead Mental Health Security Officer to provide immediate safety and security for patients and staff in mental health wards. You will de-escalate crises in real time, may perform physical interventions, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess patient needs and conditions.

The role includes 1:1 observation, belongings inventory, restraints support, contraband searches, admissions screening, and reporting changes under licensed nursing direction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or 4 years of related security experience.
• Valid Arkansas Driver's License.
• Must be able to pass an MVR check.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Must not use nicotine or tobacco products in any form.
• Demonstrates knowledge of security protocols.
• Demonstrates knowledge of mental health treatment.
• Must be able to complete the prescribed de-escalation training provided by Baptist Health.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 observation and monitor patients.
• Inventory patient belongings and report changes.
• Assist in restraint application when needed.
• Search for contraband and new admissions.
• Report changes in patient conditions to licensed staff.
