The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for an Overnight Baker I to join the Culinary team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world. After a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.

Located on Coronado Island, just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and features over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas, with 65,000 sq ft of banquet space and 10 food and beverage outlets, including 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

Classification: Full-Time

Shift: 10pm-6am, Various Days – must be available on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Rate: $21.24/hour plus a $1.50/hour differential for overnight hours. This rate depends on experience and location.

As the Overnight Baker, you will operate the baking section of the kitchen, working closely with the Executive Pastry Chef and Sous Chef to deliver an excellent guest and member experience.

Your responsibilities include:

• Preparing all food items according to recipes, ensuring production requirements are met for banquets, outlet desserts, breads, and breakfast pastries.
• Monitoring the age and condition of food items to maintain quality.
• Keeping refrigeration equipment, storage, and work areas clean and clutter-free, complying with health regulations.
• Following recipes and employing math skills.
• Preparing and baking breakfast pastries, breads, rolls, and some desserts for restaurants and banquets.
• Minimizing spoilage and waste through proper ordering and rotation.
• Ensuring high quality of dessert offerings and bringing creativity to pastry options.
• Coordinating pastry and dessert preparation and presentation.
• Planning production to meet daily requirements.
• Possessing a County of San Diego Food Handlers Card.
• This position is for the overnight shift.
