Job summary

Interim, Inc. is seeking an Overnight (Awake) Counselor IC to provide overnight care in a residential setting. The role includes crisis intervention, medication assistance, documentation, and light administrative tasks, with on-site duties at assigned locations.

Responsibilities include staying awake during shift, conducting intakes, providing supportive counseling, and maintaining accurate EHR records and MAR logs. Must have a California driver’s license and flexible overnight hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; strong written and oral communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; one year experience in related field beneficial.
• Capable of learning and applying social rehabilitation principles; team orientation and boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Stay awake during shift to supervise residents and respond to crises.
• Conduct intakes, assess suicidality, violence, and substance use risks.
• Provide informal counseling and guidance during overnight hours.
• Log and report concerns; document in staff logs and electronic health records.
