Daniel Memorial Inc in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Part Time Residential Counselor (Overnight 11p–7a) to support adolescent clients per the treatment plan. You will join the treatment team, supervise daily activities, and maintain a safe, clean environment.

Responsibilities include documentation, crisis intervention, guidance, and coordination with staff. A Florida driver’s license and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• AA degree REQUIRED with at least 1 year experience with at-risk children / mental health experience.
• Must be able to effectively use crisis intervention techniques.
• Valid Florida driver’s license in good standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Implements cottage activities of daily living (wake up, bedtime, meals) and maintains a clean, safe environment.
• Maintains clients’ personal hygiene, grooming, and adheres to infection control procedures.
• Sets appropriate limits with clients and escorts them to activities or appointments.
• Observes clients per guidelines for special precautions and documents accurately.
• Coaches recreational activities to model participation.
• Models professional behavior and attire.
• Intervenes appropriately with physically aggressive clients.
• Fills in online in crisis situations to ensure safety.
• Documents client files, group logs, and weekly summaries timely and accurately.
• Relates respectfully to clients, parents, peers, and the public.
• Tracks community service hours for each client.
• Ensures client needs are met within department guidelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge of disaster and safety plans.
• Ensures medications are administered accurately and documented.
• Shows cultural awareness in treatment delivery.
• Maintains unit cleanliness and upkeep.
• Interacts with clients and families in-person and by phone.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
