Job summary

WSP USA hosts hundreds of internships across the United States to gain hands-on, meaningful work experience. Our Power and Energy Team seeks a Full-Time Overhead Transmission Line Design Engineering Intern to join the Phoenix, AZ office for a 12-week summer program starting May 17, 2027.

Open to undergrad or graduate students, the internship offers exposure to real projects, mentorship, and networking through the Developing Professionals Network; start date may be flexible and no relocation

Qualifications

Actively enrolled in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related Undergraduate program with graduation date Dec 2027 or later.
Must be 18 or older.
Interest in Civil Engineering and desire to learn with WSP projects.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Capable of taking direction from leadership and mentors to execute projects.
Basic proficiency with office software and technical writing.

Responsibilities

Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
Learn basic Civil Engineering principles.
Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
