Job summary

CMI (Central Moloney) seeks a Transformer Repair Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and retest overhead distribution transformers on the production floor under the Repair Lead. You will disassemble/rebuild, replace defective components, and document results to ensure safe, timely releases aligned with quality standards.

You will help identify recurring defects and share root-cause observations with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams; strict safety procedures including LOTO apply, with

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in manufacturing, machine operation, mechanical repair, industrial maintenance, electrical work, or related hands-on environment preferred.
• Transformer manufacturing experience including coil winding, assembly, testing, or repair strongly preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues and identifying causes of equipment failure is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair nonconforming and returned units following priorities set by the Repair Lead.
• Inspect units to identify causes of failure including electrical faults, insulation damage, and leaks.
• Disassemble and rebuild units, drain and handle insulating oil, reseal covers and gaskets.
• Replace components using brazing, crimping, and hand/power tools per work instructions.
• Perform electrical testing to verify repairs and coordinate final testing with the Test department.
