Job summary

Meerholz Canada is seeking a skilled Crane Maintenance Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair overhead cranes and hoisting equipment in industrial settings. You will read schematics, troubleshoot PLCs and motor controls, and ensure ongoing equipment reliability.

Join a safety-conscious team focused on quality, documentation, and collaboration with engineers and field technicians. Flexibility for overtime and on-call shifts is expected as part of maintenance operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electrician, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in crane maintenance or industrial equipment repair.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems including PLCs, VFDs, and motor controls.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on overhead cranes and hoisting equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Repair or replace components including motors, control systems, wiring, and sensors.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards.
• Identify and mitigate potential hazards in the workplace.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare service reports.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to supervisors or customers.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and other team members.
