Kloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a Crane Operator/Loader for 2nd shift (4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.). You will safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts, manage loading/unloading duties, and ensure paperwork accuracy. A focus on safety and efficiency is required.

Qualifications include 2+ years crane operation experience, an overhead crane certification, and a high school diploma or GED. DOT load regulations knowledge is desirable; physical fitness and dependable work history are expected.

Job description

Job Summary

The Crane Operator/Loader is responsible for handling materials as related to the shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

2nd Shift Hours: 4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., with availability to work overtime as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Crane and Forklift Operation: Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts
• Product Knowledge: Understand the products handled, including color coding and customer specifications; read and interpret all measuring devices
• Shipping and Receiving: Unload and receive inbound stock shipments and load outbound shipments, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
• Loading Procedures: Safely load trucks, including proper chaining and tarping of trailers
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial or distribution environment
• Certification: Valid certification to operate overhead cranes is required
• Education: High School diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Regulations Knowledge: Understanding of DOT regulations regarding load weight
• Safety and Procedures: Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures
• Dependability: Reliable with a strong work ethic
• Learning and Training: Willingness to learn new skills and train others
• Physical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history
• Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
