Job summary

Lapham-Hickey Steel is hiring a Crane Operator in Madison, IL, to safely operate overhead cranes and move heavy loads within our manufacturing environment. You will ensure load stability, perform pre-shift inspections, and coordinate lifts with site teams to uphold production timelines.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of overhead crane experience, familiarity with load charts and safety manuals, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience operating overhead cranes in industrial settings.
• Knowledge of hand tool usage.
• Ability to read load charts and safety manuals.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with team members.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes and other heavy equipment to lift, move, and position materials safely and efficiently when loading and unloading trucks.
• Banding finished product for shipment, receiving and inspection of incoming material.
• Inspect cranes equipment before use to ensure proper working condition and report defects.
• Coordinate with personnel and site supervisors to plan lifts and ensure load stability and safety.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including load weights and lift times.
• 1st Shift - Monday to Friday (6:00a - 2:30p)
