Overview

A fast-paced and safety-driven manufacturing facility is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join the 1st shift team in Montgomery, IL!

Normal shift is 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM, but the team is currently working 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Candidates must be flexible and able to work OT as needed based on production/support needs.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $26.00/hour (based on experience)

A well-established metals processing facility is looking for an experienced Crane Operator to join its team. This hands-on role involves staging materials for production, inspecting finished goods, and preparing orders for shipment. Ideal candidates will have experience in a warehouse or industrial setting and be comfortable operating overhead cranes and forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Package and label materials according to customer specifications
• Stage finished materials for outbound shipment
• Operate overhead cranes to move steel or other metal materials
• Operate forklifts or side loaders to transport product within the facility
• Confirm work orders and job completion using warehouse management systems
• Follow production schedules and safety protocols to ensure timely order fulfillment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may shift based on operational needs

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete a skills-based assessment (reading, math, measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving)
• 1+ year of metals, aluminum and/or polishing industry experience REQUIRED. Will waive this requirement if candidate has experience operating 20-25 ton cranes in a different industry.
• Knowledge of structural steel preferred.
• Crane experience required (min. 1-2 years). Crane experience must be with 20-25 ton cranes.
• Ability to use measuring tools accurately, including tape measures, micrometers, and calipers
• Comfortable using pneumatic tools and working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
