Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures in Clinton, IL is seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Operator to safely operate cranes and rigging equipment within our fabrication environment. You will move heavy materials such as steel plates and beams, perform pre-shift inspections, maintain logs, and follow OSHA safety protocols to ensure smooth production and a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Experience operating overhead cranes in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Strong knowledge of crane operations, load limits and rigging.
• Attention to detail and precision for safe load placement.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in a physically demanding environment.
• Certification in overhead crane or OSHA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate remote-controlled cranes to move materials per work orders.
• Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of crane and rigging equipment.
• Observe load hookup, determine balance and proper rigging.
• Load and unload trucks, stage products for cutting, welding, or shipping.
• Communicate with floor personnel using radios/signals to coordinate lifts.
• Maintain logs of crane operations and maintenance reports.
• Follow OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
