Job summary

NABRICO Marine Products in Ashland City, Tennessee, is seeking an overhead crane operator for 1st shift. You will safely operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment to move steel plates, assemblies, and components across the facility, supporting fabrication, welding, and production.

The role requires strong safety focus, attention to detail, and the ability to work with welders, fitters, supervisors, and production staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year overhead crane or related experience.
• Ability to safely operate cranes in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic rigging knowledge and load control.
• Follow verbal and written instructions with focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Communicate effectively with team members, spotters and supervisors.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate overhead cranes and other material handling equipment to move steel plates, structural components, assemblies, and materials throughout the facility.
• Position and stage materials to support fabrication, fitting, welding, and production activities.
• Inspect cranes, rigging, lifting devices, and equipment before use to ensure safe operation.
• Follow hand signals, radio communications, and verbal instructions from spotters, supervisors, and production personnel.
• Assist with rigging loads and ensuring materials are properly secured before lifting or moving.
• Maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and potential hazards while operating cranes.
• Complete routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
